BAUDER Roofing Membranes
PAUL BAUDER GmbH & Co. KG is a family business with more than 150 years history. The company was established in 1852 in Stuttgart as a small factory for asphalt roofing paper. In 1964 BAUDER started production of bituminous waterproofing membranes and in 1967- of polyurethane foam (PUR) thermal insulation boards. After the acquisition in the year 2000 of a factory for synthetic (PVC & FPO) membranes in Bernsdorf, BAUDER became a single- source roof waterproofing supplier.
In July 2009 a new modern factory for FPO membranes was opened in Schwepnitz (only 10 km. from Bernsdorf) aimed at process optimization and increase of production: PVC membranes are manufactured now in Bernsdorf and FPO- in the new facilities. That EUR 20 million investment in a period of global financial and economic crisis states in outspoken terms that BAUDER has positive forecasts for the development of FPO market share.
BAUDER has approx. 650 employees, central office in Stuttgart, 6 factories in Stuttgart, Bochum, Achim, Landsberg, Bernsdorf and Schwepnitz, affiliate companies in 12 European countries and trade partners in another eight (ISOTRADE being the sole Bulgarian distributor).
BAUDER ranks second in Germany and third in Europe manufacturer of waterproofing membranes and PUR/PIR thermal insulation boards. Production is sold 60% in Germany and 40% abroad, bituminous membranes form approx. 55% of the turnover, PUR/PIR- 25%, 10- 12% are PVC and FPO.
